OH WOW

this is our grandson at about 3 1/2 months--such a good baby. I got to spend some time with him on Saturday after we returned with Ilea from Colorado, so Joe could help his sister move things into storage...not sure what was left there, as our home is crowded now..

Yesterday was sewciety meeting or get - together, and good friend there brought me lots of beads and metallic threads and some other goodies for cq-ing. Silly me forgot to take a picture of a Fall block swap that I completed last night using some of me newest stash.

We took two days to drive to Colorado and we spent the night at the home of our daughter's friend. Imagine my surprise when I walked in and family room and right within direct eyesight was the most beautiful and well kept crazy quilt I had ever seen...

I tried to get as close as possible to take pictures, but oh well--at least, you can get a gist of it.

The other thing that amazed me was rather quicky trunk show and short story. these last few pictures were from around the house as the quilts were used for decorating. Every one of the quilts was hand made from beginning to end by her grandmother who passed on this summer at the age of 103. She quilted until she was approximate 98 and left no uncompleted projects. Too bad I didnt have the opportunity to meet her. I might have learned something and certainly would have been very inspired!

While in Colorado, I managed to run around looking for a mountain scene fabric for a class I am taking later this month...the only LQS near was closed---and I couldnt find anything in Hobby Lobby (gosh, we need one in Tucson area). I did manage to find two suitable pieces on Ebay--yea--good 'ol Ebay! now, looking forward to class and playing and playing! I also get to make another Child's quilt for the LQS where I help out--this is a cutie! more on that soon *~*CAROLE*~*

Well here I go again--second try.

Grandson is a cutie pie! first order of business!

The crazy quilt is awesome too as well as the other quilts although I could not see them well--amazing about the maker of those quilts. I should be so lucky to live and quilt that long. Your beads and threads are gorgeous too--you will have great creativity with that "score".
