this is the storm coming in over the mountains--notice shadows?? yep--the sun was still shining brightly. It looked really eerie outside. These were taken about 5:30 pm or so. I was mesmerized by the dark and the threatening look the clouds presented...anyhoo--It really was this dark, folks!!! Nothing like anything I had ever seen as for storms--not even hurricanes...

In this picture--you can see the just how threatening things became as the storm moved closer....

Time elapsed in these was about 10 to 20 minutes

Now you see a closer view as the rains moved in....

(yuck) hehehe Today promises more rains! I sure hope so! *~*CAROLE*~*

Hi Wippy, I loved your pics of the approaching storm. That deep, bruisy-looking blue that rainclouds have on their bottoms is my very favorite color. Here, most of our "monsoons" come up from the south west, and I love to watch them coming over the red rock canyons. We're getting the edge, I think, of your storms. Having some cloudiness and higher humidity, but not a lot of rain.

OH WOW! I loved how it looked too but it spooked me a little too. You did a great job with the photography too.
Great time elapsed photos. I wish I could send you some of our rain. We're 14 inches over average (54"/year). We've gotten over 8 inches in the last few days.
We're about ready to buy scuba gear. LOL.
Familiar looking skies! I used to watch these every summer from the front porch of our house, rolling in, storming, rolling out!
wow that is some storm!!
