My place to share what takes place around me. I love to be outdoors and I love crochet and quilting, those are my main focus. As other things happen, I will note those as well.
The only comment I will make is that in RR blocks where there are lots of print fabrics, I find myself at a loss for what to do that will show up. I use prints very sparingly.
I think the first print is just right; not too busy. One could cut out around individual motifs and cq solid fabrics around them. The second one doesn't inspire me with ideas (but that could just be me!) and the last two might be a tad too busy, though they could work.
I posted a long message about exactly how I've done and will do this round robin, then I posted before I signed it. I hope it will help newbies be more comfortable with the round robin process, because they are sooooo much fun!!
I really like the second one, the cream color because your stitches will show up. I also liked the last one, although busy, with enough solids around it, you could even quilt the quilt squares on the fabric, (stitch in the ditch) kind of. I think it will be a beautiful CQ project. You can also buy many embellishments in the sewing theme at Michaels, for one. Nice Start! Hugs, Lori K
Hey Carole, I would go with creams adn tone on tons and use the prints as small tidbits or mabe as the border and sashing when you are done with the blocks. You want the stitches to show up with the CQ and with alot of print and color variety it will dissapear. Mabe use the prints as the center piece and mabe some small outer pieces and use tone on tone accents for the majority of the block. My 2 cents. Robin
I like all the fabrics Carole, I would choose the last one for a focus fabric and then choose solids or tone on tones to go around it. The cream would go with any of them as a tone on tone. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this.
married with 3 step-children and 2 of my own. NANA to 6. I worked customer service all my life and am done with it--retired @ age 51 and loving every minute. I do work part time at a quilt shop as I have a habit to support.
August 2012--I am now Nana to 8 and I no longer work at the quilt shop--I have sewing and things to do!

Sorry I can't be of any help to you selecting a fabric for CQ, but I like your fabrics, especially the one in the last picture. ;o)
